At 5 locations, 4 in the city centre and 1 on the beach, 10 choirs will perform this year with a diverse repertoire of Shanties and Sea Songs. Shanties are mainly traditional. Traditionally work songs, sung on large ships. The powerful chorus was sung loudly and determined the pace of the workers and therefore the ship. Sea songs are both classical and modern. They are life songs, usually about fishermen's suffering and sailor's suffering.
